There are over 17,000 islands to visit in Indonesia, so you really are spoiled for choice. However, the brightest of them all is Bali, as it was voted the world’s favourite destination in a 2017 TripAdvisor poll.
With its incredible beaches and mystical waterfalls, Bali is a true tropical paradise and should be placed high on your bucket list when you’re looking for somewhere to travel.
Reasons to fall in love with Bali
Accommodation for every budget
Bali is a popular tourist vacation, but there is no shortage of places to stay. From Bali holiday villas to giant treehouses and safari lodges, you will find plenty of places to choose from. And due to the oversupply of accommodation, you are almost guaranteed to find a discounted deal as local hotel and resort owners try to win you over to their side.
There are beaches for everyone in Bali, and each one is located in a place of outstanding natural beauty. With black, white, and golden sands, and hidden coves and turquoise lagoons, it’s everything you ever dreamed of from a castaway fantasy. If it wasn’t for those pesky tourists, you really could get away from it all, though there are secret beaches where you might just get a little solitude.
You don’t want to spend all day on the beach, as there is a whole world to explore beyond the sandy beaches. The centuries-old Bali temples will offer you a rich spiritual experience, and you can often take part in seasonal activities to immerse yourself into the religious cultures. There are some incredible waterfalls to gaze upon (perfect backdrops for your selfie-shots); great lakes to swim and paddle in; fields of flowers of all kinds; and secret canyons just begging to be explored. Pick up a guidebook by all means, but don’t be afraid to step off the beaten path as you walk through nature. You never know what untouched wonder you will find around the next corner!
You won’t go hungry in Bali as there are many culinary delights to tantalise your taste buds. With a rich variety of meats, vegetables, and spices, there is a cuisine to suit every palate, though don’t be afraid to try something new! From fried banana desserts to succulent noodle dishes, these are some of the best foods to try in Bali. You really won’t be disappointed.
Reliably warm climates
Yes, there are the occasional rain showers between October and April, but they don’t last long. The sun is always shining in and out of season, so if you are looking for somewhere warm and sunny, Bali is the place to be. With around 13 hours of sunshine a day, you will have plenty of time to explore the island or relax on the beaches, so you don’t need to spend too long in your accommodation, unless you really want to.
Bali is a magical place, made better by the wonderful hospitality of the local people.
If you are looking to get away this summer, we are on the side of all those people that made Bali the world’s number one destination of choice. We are sure you will agree too.
