Theatre Review: Zippos Circus – Cirque Berserk at Edinburgh Festival Theatre February 2018 *

Cirque Berserk are currently on their UK tour celebrating 250 years of circus!

I was chuffed to bits when I was invited along to Edinburgh Festival Theatre to review the talented Cirque Berserk performance, and I got to bring along my son and fiance too!

Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the 250th anniversary open night, but we went the following night instead.

We certainly had no disappointments with the performance. Each passing moment was filled with giggles, wows and heart stopping moments.

Hats off to these guys, they are amazing at what they do!

My Experience watching Cirque Berserk

Performing in the gorgeous Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Cirque Berserk looked perfectly in place with the old time feel of the theatre.

We were fairly close to the front so we had a wonderful view of the performance.

It was an amazing feeling to see the amazement on my sons face and to hear him saying “gasp, oh wow!” and lots of giggles coming from him, I’m so glad he enjoyed it!

His favourite performer was the clown, Tweedy!

I must agree, he was very funny and lovable! And I am not a clown person!

Cirque Berserk Performers

Cirque Berserk has a team of over 30 jugglers, acrobats, aerialists, dancers, drummers and daredevil stuntmen from all corners of the globe. Here’s some of our favourites from last night’s performance…

Tweedy The Clown

Tweedy is brilliant! I hate clowns, they’re creepy, weird, and too silly (very good, you squirted me with water from your fake flower and now you’re drying me with your 3 metre handkerchiefs, FUNNY.)

Tweedy is actually hilarious and a favourite between all 3 of us! Does he have a fan page?! I need to follow him!

The Lucius Team

I don’t even have the words to describe how amazing these guys are! Live on stage for the first time in the UK, 4 of them (yes 4!!!) ride at speeds of up to 60mph in this tiny Globe Of Death!

I was on the edge of my seat throughout all of this, one slightest wrong move could be absolutely fatal.

Massive respect to The Lucius Team!

Jose And Gaby

Talk about skill! I was amazed by Jose and Gaby, they work so smoothly together.

When they balanced head to head it was jaw dropping! I can barely balance a book on my head!

The Timbuktu Tumblers

These guys have some awesome balance and strength to them too! Within a matter of seconds they all come together and present themselves in all kinds of positions! Human Transformers!

These 4 acts were my particular favourites, but EVERYONE was amazing!

Everybody works so well together and must have great trust in each other, their lives are literally in each other’s hands!
