This summer has been absolutely incredible in the UK!
Not only did England reach the semi-final of the World Cup which put everyone in high spirits, but we also experienced an amazing month long heatwave where the rain was put on hold and temperatures soared!
Most would agree, it’s the best summer we’ve had in quite some time, and so why not make the absolute most of the time we have left?
Before we know it the nights will be drawing in again and the days will be cooler and shorter, and as nice and cosy as the autumn is, you don’t want to look back and regret wasting the summer that we had.
Here are some of the ways you can make the most of the great English weather that we’re having.
Go to the seaside
The British seaside is fantastic when the weather is good.
We have tonnes of gorgeous beaches, beautiful little tourist destinations with lots to see and do and breathtaking scenery at our coasts.
How about packing up the car and heading down to the beach for the day, or even taking a long weekend or mini break?
Whether you’re considering cottages to rent near Weymouth, a hotel in Bournemouth, or camping in Pembrokeshire there are loads of options for all budgets.
Eat fish and chips and ice cream on the beach, paddle in the sea, check out the arcades and go hiking in the surrounding mountains. You could visit the quaint villages and towns, go shopping and generally have a wonderful time with the sun shining.
Definitely a good way to enjoy the nice weather while it’s still around.
One of the nicest things about the summer is being able to spend more time outdoors.
Research has shown that we’re truly an ‘indoor generation’ with most of us spending up to ninety percent of our time inside.
When the weather permits, it’s so good to get out and breathe in some fresh air, enjoy some scenery and soak up that vitamin D.
Eating outdoors is a lovely way to make the most of the warm weather, this could be serving up your regular evening meals or weekend lunches in the garden, hosting a picnic for loved ones in the park or getting everyone over for a barbeque.
Enjoy your garden
If you’re lucky enough to have a garden at home, the summertime is the perfect opportunity to enjoy it.
Give it a spruce up, weed borders and flowerbeds and fill them with colourful
Give your lawn some TLC and generally have a clean and tidy outside. You could
get some pots and try your hand at growing herbs or vegetables.
Your garden is essentially another space at home to enjoy, so make the most of it while you can… soon enough you’ll be looking at it longingly out of the window again while it pours with rain!
How are you intending on making the most of the remainder of the summer?
